This story highlights another good boy. I love a hardworking K-9. This drug dog sniffed out 25 lb of hidden cocaine in a pickup truck at the Tornillo border crossing. The driver was trying to enter Texas but now faces time behind bars.

Drug dog finds 28 bundles of cocaine in a truck at the border

One K-9 officer deserves extra treats and pets for being the goodest boy this week. A drug-sniffing dog with the United States Customs and Border Protection sniffed out 14 bundles of cocaine. They weighed 28.5 lbs.

According to Fox San Antonio, a 25-year-old American woman was trying to smuggle drugs from Mexico into Texas at the Tornillo border crossing. But a dog alerted officers to the 2013 Nissan Titan around 1:30 PM, so they provided a secondary exam.

It found foil-wrapped bundles of cocaine hidden in the heel well and dashboard of a 2013 Nissan Titan. The CPB shared that the woman was driving the Nissan truck alone and was turned over to the Texas Department of Public Safety.

She will face state charges related to the drug smuggling attempt. CBP Marcelino Serna Port Director, Eric Fernandez shared that every load the CBP stops plays a role in keeping communities and neighbors safe.

This was a significant amount of cocaine that didn’t reach its intended destination. The woman’s name hasn’t been released as there is an ongoing investigation into the matter.

Her Nissan Titan is probably being held as evidence. However, the drug dog should be able to take a spin in it as a reward.
