You may have heard that Red Bull gives you wings. However, this isn’t meant to be taken literally. Also, it’s not for trucks. An Oklahoma man learned upon crashing a Red Bull truck and spilling the energy drink all over the road.

Oklahoma man crashes Red Bull truck and doesn’t get wings

A trucker was having a normal shift in a Red Bull truck on his way to make a delivery when disaster struck. The delivery truck hydroplaned and flipped over the median cable barriers on Highway 412 in Sand Springs.

Police officers shared that the semi-truck was heading westbound when the driver lost control, striking cable barriers and flipping over into the eastbound lanes. Tulsa firefighters, police officers, and other emergency crews immediately responded to the incident.

According to News 9, a male driver was the only occupant involved in the wreck. He was pulled from the wrecks and taken to a local hospital to treat various injuries. Luckily, the man is expected to make a full recovery.

Pieces of metal, glass, and other debris were scattered across the highway. Multiple cans of the Red Bull energy drink littered lanes of traffic as well. A few lanes were closed for hours as crews removed the truck and cleared debris.

Hydroplaning occurs when tires roll over more water than they can disperse. Vehicle speed, tire thread, and the amount of water on the road are each contributing factors. Typically lighter trucks have a higher risk of hydroplaning.

However, if a heavier vehicle hydroplanes, like a semi-truck, it will cause more damage. The Red Bull truck needed wings to avoid the median.
