“Let me tell you about the very rich. They are different from you and me.” Those words were written in 1926 by Great Gatsby author, F. Scott Fitzgerald. But I’d say they get truer every year. Take, for example, Snoop Dogg stealing 50 Cent’s custom Lamborghini by Versace. Over what he claims was an unpaid debt. The kicker? 50 Cent was laughing about the incident on late night TV just weeks later. That is rich.

50 Cent is from Queens. So his 2019 concert at the Brooklyn Nets’ Barclays Center was a bit of a homecoming. His longtime friend Snoop Dogg even stopped by. 50 Cent remembered Snoop saying, “‘If you need me to come on I’ll come on.’ Because we have done a song together.”

That song is their historic 2003 collaboration–50 Cent’s breakout hit–P.I.M.P. Snoop surprised 50 on stage and the result was a legendary concert moment. 50 said, “When we went on it was, like, it was fun. I had a good time. It was a surprise that he came out.” You can see the 2019 moment in the video a fan filmed below:

So Snoop Dogg came on stage after all, then left. 50 Cent finished his show and figured the two were square. He was wrong.

“And then I had more to do. So he left and I continued to perform. When I came off I was wet and I wiped off everything and got dressed.”

Because the concert was so close to his NYC home, 50 Cent had actually driven himself to the stadium in his custom Lamborghini. The car is a convertible with a wrap done by Versace. Just to stand out, 50 Cent commissioned custom sneakers and a t-shirt from Versace to match the car.

“I came out, and the car was gone.”

This wasn’t any old carjacking, because he hadn’t parked the Lambo on the streets. “The keys are in there, because you park inside the Barclays.” This looked like an inside job.

50 Cent went hunting. He questioned “the guy who was supposed to valet parker. I said, ‘Where did the car go?’ And he said, ‘Snoop took the car.’

50 Cent’s response: “What!? How you just let him take my car?”

So the star caught a ride home. He joked that Snoop smokes a lot and “I think he thought that was his car for a minute.” Then 50 Cent checked social media.

Snoop, where’s my car?

Once 50 Cent checked social media, he knew exactly where his car was. Snoop Dogg had actually posted a live video walking around the Lamborghini, promising to steal it.

Snoop Dogg insisted that 50 Cent, “owe me some money.” He added “50 I’m gonna take your car until you give me my money, aight?”

What did Snoop think 50 owed him for? He explained, “I rapped on stage with 50 Cent. I did P.I.M.P. and he didn’t give me no money, so I guess I’m gonna take his car and we’re gonna to call it even. I need my money.”

Snoop definitely appreciated 50 Cent’s taste in Lamborghinis, calling the custom convertible “Sweet” and “made for a crib.” He finally decided, “Matter of fact, I don’t even want the money, I just want to drive this.” You can see Snoop Dogg’s video embedded below:

50 Cent admitted, “Later he made a tape saying I owed him for the performance, because he feel like ‘You got me performing for free.'” But 50 Cent insisted, “He offered to perform!”

So where did the two longtime friends and colleagues leave things? Was it all a publicity stunt? Or is something else going on? 50 Cent did laugh about the supposed car theft during an interview just weeks later. He also posted videos of Snoop hanging out in the Lamborghini at his place. It’s safe to say things are good between these two legends.
